Welcome to the Media Center

Welcome back to school!  I am so pleased to be back in the library this year working as your media specialist as well as technology teacher.

Mrs. Larochelle and I have been hard at work this summer.  Our goal is to have the media center be a center for dynamic learning.  Some of the new things you will find in the media center this year are:

1.  All new computers in the computer lab!  Wow!

2.  A brand new system for searching for books and information called Destiny.  We will even be able to share book recommendations with each other!

3.  Six beautiful new bookcases thanks to a very generous donation from Gibson's Bookstore in Concord, NH.

4.  New layout with more carpet and table space.

5.  Centers...in the library???  You bet.  It is all part of the makerspace movement taking place in libraries across the country.   We are starting small, but there will be more to come.  Students will have the opportunity in the library to create, discover, investigate and collaborate with others.

6.  Students will come out to the library once/week for media class and once/week for library time.  During library time there will be lessons, time to look for books and time to explore in our centers.

Check out these beautiful new book cases!
